Sorting a creative life before a new degree
Lucy is a textile artist about two months into using xTiles, with a master's degree starting that September. Connect xTiles in ChatGPT
Add the official xTiles connector from ChatGPT's connector settings if you haven't already.
Describe the project, not just the topic
Give it more than a title. For a trip: the destination and the stops you care about. For a portfolio: the categories of work you want represented. The more detail you give it, the more precise the result.
Ask for images from Unsplash by name
Say so directly: "create the project, and add images from Unsplash that fit each tile." That's what tells it to go find and place a picture rather than leave the tile blank.
Ask for a translation if you need one
If the content should be in a different language, say so in the same request or afterward — it can translate the page in place.
xTiles also has its own built-in AI for generating a template from a prompt inside the app itself — it won't edit an existing page the way a connected ChatGPT or Claude can, but it's a fast way to get a first version of a page you can then adjust by hand.
Keeping several projects like this from piling up
Once you're building out a trip, a portfolio, and a mood board alongside everything else, a couple of habits keep it tidy. Use spaces as folders for different areas of life — one for trip planning, one for creative work, one for personal admin — the same way you'd use folders in Google Drive. And a project with a fixed end date, like a finished trip, doesn't need to stay in daily rotation: move it somewhere you can refer back to, or duplicate it as a template the next time you plan something similar.
